Last year the owner of an international well-known company which builds light passenger aircraft asked us to design its new airplanes factory in Italy.
The perfect location for its construction was a small airport, near Gorizia, which is now abandoned. It was from this Gorizian runway that the Russjan brothers flew for their very first time. During the Second World War it was also the base of the famous “4° Stormo”, an aircraft formation lead by the commander Prince Amedeo, duke of Aosta.
This factory has been designed to accomplish every need of the customer, who wanted a sustainable building in terms of energy efficiency, using the latest techniques of thermal insulation and the production of renewable energy.
We have also been focusing on the appearance of the exterior, building a space for the offices with big glass windows which lighten this industrial building and offer a beautiful view of the airfields and the surrounding Alps.
